Huh? ERX (whom I have never ordered from) sent me an e-mail stating the following:
"Hello,
With the ever-changing climate in the industry of
Online Pharmaceuticals, eRxonline.com is trying to
stay ahead of changes in legislation and continue
to adhere to the DEA and Florida standards.
In light of this, we are not offering refills
effective September 2nd, 2003.
- Any existing refills will be honored. -
The physicians will be able to maintain compliance
and further your care with monthly consults. They
will be able to determine if the medication is working
for you and if not, to determine an alternate medication.
We have always been competitive in our pricing at
eRxonline.com, we are confident this will still maintain
a fair structure for our clients and improve care.
-Your friends at eRxonline.com."
Huh? Did I miss something? Changes in legislation? I hope that this won't apply to ALL OP'S!

USPharmacyRx.com is also not giving anymore refills(Just started). So, something must have happened.

Can anyone else confirm that USPharmacyRX is also not giving out any refills? I have not received anything from them, just the e-mail from ERX. If this is a new trend, then we are all screwed.
Or could we just place "new" orders each time, not requesting a refill?
Any suggestions for the future?
P.S. I am already gathering my Temgesic, Xanax & Immodium together for what looks to be a permanent "Hydro Holiday."

Here is the latest on this situation:
"Improving Physician Compliance"
'With the ever-changing climate in the industry of Online Pharmaceuticals, eRxonline.com is trying to stay ahead of changes in legislation and continue to adhere to DEA and Florida standards. The network of contracted physicians is not offering refills to individuals with insufficient medical history documentation. Please note that eRxonline does not prescribe nor dispense medication directly. Your online physician has the final authorization to approve, deny or offer refills on any order. Any existing refills will be honored by the respected pharmacies. The physicians will be able to maintain compliance and further your care with monthly consults. They will be able to determine if the medication is working for you and if not, to determine an alternate medication. We have always been competitive in our pricing at eRxonline, we are confident this will still maintain a fair structure for our clients and improve care.'"
This was a direct quote from their website. So we can place one initial order, then no refills w/o medical records. This is what I am gathering from this. So if you're due some refills from a recently placed order, you are ok for now. But if you are a new customer, you get one shot only.
I could be wrong. Your thoughts?

Or maybe this their excuse to add an additional "consult fee" to their prices. Hmm...
Again, I could be wrong...

Personally , I think its just a way for them to make more $$$$$$. Then they can charge the higher price each time.

If they do this, then yes, it will suck for us w/no med records, but at least we will still have an option w/these guys. I'd rather be borderline broke and pain-free. Like Legitimate said, I hope that this is not a trend. Moreso, I hope we can make some sense of this and find out just exactly what is going on.

I ran the ErX email through my handy-dandy double-speak translator and here is what I got:
"Hello from ErX!:
We would like to inform our customers, that after careful observation of the business models of such sites as BuyMeds and TropicalRX - we have realized that we are not making enough money. We have realized that by offering refills, we have suckered ourselves into missing out on huge amounts of profit. We need more money and quick - so we have created a new FL law that says we can rip you off for more money. This law may not appear in any news reports or legal texts, but it is true - we just came up with it yesterday. Please spread the word on the 'net so everyone else will believe it too.
So, if you could, please send back any pills you haven't taken. Or if they haven't hit your digestive tract yet, please try to cough them up and carefully place the in the enclosed self-addressed stamped envelope. We need all your money. After seeing that people are willing to pay extremely high prices for medications with no refills, we have realized the error of our ways. We could be making 3 times the money we were making, of course all in the name of serving you better. We expect our business to increase 10-fold and our service to start working better for you, with this new policy, once we have the extra money. Donations are also accepted.
Sincerely,
"Your Friends' at ErXOnline.
P.S Bend Over.

If you look at what ERX wrote they really don't specify a law. They say to keep up with legislation before it happens, not that it actually has occured. Also, you can order more than one time...you'll just have to pay the whole thing over again. USPharmacy did have refills, but it was pretty much the same process at a $15 dollar discount, so it really wasn't a refill like at YOD or NWW. You still would have had to fill out the questionnaire.
Personally, I think we need to get our panties out of a bunch and dig up some type of a medical record and go to a reputable OP....however, for those of you that can't do that, there is no law in effect right now that is endangering our use of these Online pharmacies. It's just them trying to cover their butt and of course fill their pockets with our hard earned green.
I agreee that there was a lot of double speak in that email. I also got it and I never ordered from them either. Believe me about what I said about the law and ordering, analyzing the written word is what I do for a living.
Good luck to you all....don't stress out about this company whose only goal is to rip you off. And don't worry about USpharm...remember they're pretty new and I'm sure they're still figuring out their system. If there was a new law we would have heard about it a week ago. I'm sure there is someone on this board who lives in Flordia...and as we know all of are on the lookout for this kind of info in our local areas... anyway I hope everyone gets what they need.
I need a cigarette after this post....whew

Outstanding!! And True!! I tried to place an order with them recently and got denied. There reason was that I did not meet their criteria. What! I have ordered from them before with no problems and in the past used other ops with no problems! I guess they figure that this is their new way of scamming people into at least the consult fee! Boy do they tick me off! I would never even think about ordering from these people ever again and would HIGHLY recommend the same for everyone else on this board. Maybe it will give them a dose of their own medicine if NOBODY ordered from them! I am usually a very laid back person but this op gets under my skin!

Zeuzjuz, I was just wondering if I could send documents to you to run through your translator. I'm very impressed with how well it works. Also, I am an attorney, and while it should come naturally to me, I am wondering if I could just write up what I mean and have you run it through your translator in reverse before sending it to my clients?

Sure, it could be a ploy to get more cash. However, I've seen countless wire stories and articles in Florida newspapers (and you all know Florida is the base of many OPs) about lawmakers stepping up efforts to make OP laws more stringent -- or outlaw them altogether. So, maybe these places are trying to cover their proverbial butts ahead of time -- like what the old MWW (now Nationwide) did when they started their porto-medic service.
Not that I like the notion one bit, mind you. Sure hope all the others (including mine) don't follow suit!

postscript: There was nothing on the Florida state news wires today, or in any of the papers -- both print or online -- regarding any new law about OP refills. If I see something, I'll post it.

It's only common sense that this is a cheap premise in which to jack up the price. Doesn't bother me - haven't used these idiotic greedy creeps for months now.

Hi all I agree with the above posts I think it is a way to scam more money out of us. They see that other OP's that do not offer an refills get just as much business if not more than they do so why not milk us for every penny we have! They pretty much know we have no other choice and we will fork out the money because we are in pain. I know that my pain get so bad that I would pay anything at that time for it to go away! It makes me laugh that they ended their e-mail with "Your Friends At ERX" Ha! Ha! I have never ordered from them because of all the trouble people have had with them. I do not intend on ordering from them in the future. Hopefully I will never become desperate enough to have to do so. I just need to go get some recent medical records. I just hate to go through all of the test and exams that go along with my condition agian when the doctor's do absolutely nothing for me. It really baffles me on why they dont!

Excellent post myrrine, thanks for putting that in perspective. If this is a ploy by eRX to get more $$.....then I've got news for them - people will stop ordering from them because on top of their horrible customer service and non-reliability people will go elsewhere. I stopped using them also.

I think he just meant that USPharmacy used to give refills at a discounted rate, whereas now they just make you pay the entire fee each time you order a "refill," or what I call a "brand new order." So in essence, they no longer give refills, they just require you to place a new, full-priced order, but you still need to click on the "refill" button on the website. Confused yet?
So ERX is just trying to get more bucks out of us. Scandalous! I never used them once after reading the board. And if they paid ANY attention to the posts on this board regarding them, they would not have dared to do this latest thing. Or maybe they do not care after all. I mean, one can only order so many times through Tropical, BuyMeds and USpharmacy etc. before they get denied. Maybe ERX is just banking on the fact that at SOME point, someone will HAVE to use them, as one can not always order their refills from the above mentioned sites, and our meds don't always get us through the 23-30 day period. AND, since some of us have no records, we are all simply pawns in their game.
Thanks for all of your input everyone! Please continue to chime in w/your thoughts and ideas.
