It's an IM shot in the hip. It's not painful but you need to be very careful if you don't know what you're doing, as there are nerves in this area that you DO NOT want to hit. When I was on depo I went to my county health department every three months. They used a sliding scale and I paid fourteen bucks for it. You might want to check out your local health department (less expensive than Planned Parenthood.) Also, I noticed that they always pulled the depo vial out of a refrigerator, so if you order it from an IOP and it really is a med that needs refrigeration, you'll need to worry about the integrity of an injectable that hasn't been properly stored. For something like this I'm not too sure that I'd go with anyone but a professional, but that's just me. I'm a wuss.
