She prescribed the med, although not at the dose I have taken (and need) in the past. Although she was very nice, she seemed more interested in hearing about what type of cancer killed my father than my problem, which was, and remains, panic attacks. She told me in no uncertain terms that she would never prescribe 4mgs. of Xanax a day. Now I see she prescribes it for others, ALONG with narcotic pain killers, which if I am not mistaken, POTENTIATE each other. This was my first phone consult, and I was pretty nervous...what I should have done was told her that the dosage she was giving me was not adequate for my needs and that I wanted to end the consult, and gone elsewhere. Forget the "compassionate doctor" BS, if her compassion is that selective...here is the short list of what was going on in my life when I turned to MMC: in three months I had to get legal guardianship and custody of my mother (very costly and time consuming), who has Alzheimers disease and now lives with me, with me as her primary caretaker, my father died suddenly the month before, and I was about to start a new (very stressful) job, along with raising two teenagers by myself. I was having between 2-5 full-blown panic attacks a day, and lucky to get three hours of sleep a night. If you've ever taken one of those home "stress" tests, you would know that three out of the four of these things put my stress level off the charts, but she literally told me "you just have to deal with it", at was what was probably the worst time of my entire life...I had initially wanted to go with NWW, but couldn't work out a time to coincide with my work schedule. Now that my work schedule has changed, I will be using them for my next consult. I'd rather deal with a place that basically asks "what do you want and how much", than to go through a bunch of irrelevant questions and then not have my needs met. If it is an across the board policy to NOT prescribe over a certain amount of a med, then that is one thing, but to do it for some and not others (particularly in light of the severity of my problem) is pretty crappy in my book. THAT being said, they do offer excellent prices and great delivery times. When they say "overnight delivery", they mean it.
