Ahh - a chance to vent my spleen! ![]() Well first I guess I should say that I'm not pissed as much as I am disappointed. I think many OPs operate in less-than-scrupulous ways that most businesses couldn't get away with in a million years - and stay in business, that is. I'm relatively new here at DB's and posted (whined?) recently about my order with yougotmed.com which I placed on Tuesday. I received my UPS tracking number and "shipment notification" the same day. Today is Thursday and nothing has changed. Their website says "No waiting rooms" - well, yes there is; it's just changed to a room in my house. They tout their "Customer Care Center" yet have not replied to any of the three emails I sent. They should change the name of that to the "We Don't Care Center" because three days after ordering I still don't "got med" and haven't heard a peep out of them. Besides, what am I going to do, report 'em to the BBB? I've come to the conclusion that they issue these Fed-Ex or UPS tracking numbers and keep things in limbo simply so you won't cancel the order and go somewhere else. This is very disengenuous. (It's not very encouraging that the third option on their home page is "Cancel Your Order" - they must get a lot of requests for that) So no, I do not like getting a tracking number - the implication being that they will actually ship me what I ordered - when they either have no way of shipping it for whatever reason or no intention of doing so. And that brings up another point - why offer more expensive shipping methods (i.e. next day air) when they haven't a clue when the "next day" will be? A while back I ordered from rxgreatprices. I filled out my order form and hit submit. I checked my email - no confirmation, nothing. How was I even supposed to know the order "took"? The next day I wrote them. No reply. Nothing. I did it again with the same result. The order was COD but since I didn't hear anything from them, I never got the money order. Three days later the UPS guy shows up and I was completely unprepared for him because I had no idea he was coming and or what was happening. Too many OPs - and particularly NROPs - operate under the "Beggars Cant Be Choosers" policy. Would you put up with this ordering *anything* else? What could they do to fix it? Well its not rocket science - it's simple customer service. I think the number one thing that could be done is explain that, for whatever reason, they haven't the foggiest idea when your order will ship and they should say so. If an OP is having staffing problems, or supply problems - whatever - they should either temporarily shut down or simply explain this either on their site or in an email - not leave us hanging out there, checking our emails ten times a day - which, by the way, sort of defeats the purpose of much of the rationale of using an OP in the first place, doesn't it? Another thing that would be helpful - answering customer's emails. This is apparently too much to ask because I've rarely had it happen. Why go to the trouble to put the option on their website when the emails I write apparently end up in some delete-bin bit-bucket? The profits these guys make are astronomical. I suspect a 10/325 hydrocodone pill costs them a few cents from the manufacturer. We pay anywhere from two to three dollars per pill. Thats quite a good margin, so I find it hard to believe that hiring the staff to ship these orders is somehow problematic. So here's a newsflash for some of these OPs - Do what you say you will. Don't promise what you can't deliver. Stop offering more expensive shipping methods that become irrelevent when the order can't be filled on time anyway. Answer customer's questions. Give reasonable prices and good service and you'll have a hugely successful business. I know that I will not be using yougotmed ever again, and all they needed to do was send me an email and they would've had a repeat customer instead of my coming here and relaying my less-than-pleasant experience for other potential customers to read about. Next time I'll tell you how I *really* feel! ;-) |
