My roommate got this exact thing during the July 4th weekend. He used some of the tools Moonshade recommended, including Hijack This and that webpage (eh, can't remember the name), and eventually got through it after an entire weekend fighting it by running all his anti-virus programs and Hijack This 4 or more times to catch everything.

My question is, does the new SP2 Windows update improve security against this?
