My computer is driving me crazy...and I don't have a clue as to what the problem is. I'm hoping someone out there can give me a helping hand...

I think it's important for me to note that until 2 days ago, my computer was fine. It's not like it was already acting up and causing me problems. It wasn't...it really was fine. But then, 2 days ago, I logged on and immediately experienced this problem. It's been this way ever since.

With almost every website I try to visit or link I click on, I get this:

"The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. etc"

OR THIS:

"Action canceled

Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable. etc"

It happens whether I'm using AOL browser or Internet Explorer.

Okay, I'm familiar with both of these notices. Occasionally, I'll get one of them if my computer needs to be shut down and restarted. But once I do that, everything is fine. Now, it doesn't do any good at all to restart my computer.

What could have happened 2 days ago to cause this? It's really starting to upset me. It's almost impossible to do anything on my computer. Can anyone offer a possible solution?
