Hi Jenerator, I'll help you, but can only speak for myself and your mileage may vary. I've been prescribed almost every Schedule II medication out there over the last 5 years, including both MS Contin and Oxycontin. (At separate times, of course). Put it this way. The doc I had two years ago was more than willing to write for MS Contin, but he would NOT write for Oxycontin for ANYONE. So I guess there's you answer via a medical doctor. You see, although all narcotics are addictive, we never hear about MS Contin and the abuse levels. Rather, we hear about Oxycontin and it's abuse out there. I must say that Oxycontin is far more addicting than MS Contin. Put it this way. If you lined up 100 docs and asked them if they'd rather rx MS Contin or Oxycontin to a patient who needs one or the other, 99 of them would write for the MS Contin. So before you consider switching, do consider this, and also do a lot of googling for yourself and read Medical forums, such as the Harvard forums and those. You might gain more knowledge from the Medical side than from the patient side? Hope this helps you. |
