Re: Chronic Pain Treatment Proposal

I have a bit of a problem with this part:

"And controls to keep physicians and pharmacists from being hoodwinked by pseudo-patients who shop around for multiple prescriptions must also be put in place. "

I feel that chronic undertreatment of legitimate pain patients, forces lots of sufferers to do just that, shop around for drugs, as part of what is known as "pseudoaddiction". A patient in pain gets grief from their doctor because s/he won't help with pain drugs. If their doctor is anything like mine, prescribing anything for pain BUT painkillers, i.e. Vioxx, SSRI antidepressants, antispasmodics, then that patient will get tired of the doctor jerking them around.
So I feel a lot of so called criminals are being forced into criminal behavior just to get relief. How's that far?
