42% of Americans view pain as a weakness rather than a misfortune. I believe it! Although I have debilitating chronic back pain, I rarely let on to anyone (with the exception of my husband) that I have pain at all. If you have pain you are either a whiner, complainer, someone trying to seek attention, etc. It is a hopeless situation when you look at just the perception people have of chronic pain sufferers. What a shame!
