Jeez, it gets even worse! I also had Celebrex prescribed to me, which also didn't seem to work for me, but my mom has them prescribed to her for Arthritis, now I'm wondering if I should tell her to stop taking them?

My stepfather has been taking Vioxx for at least 3 years now, and the last few times he went to see his doc, he was told that he has hypertension, and he has complained of having chest pains before this bomb even dropped. I told him to stop taking them immediately, and to ask his lawyer what could be done about the fact that he's been taking Vioxx all this time and all of a sudden, he's having chest pain & hypertension. I don't know if the 2 are related or not, but he didn't have these problems before taking Vioxx.

I swear, we're like the crippled family on my block, my stepdad & me both have bad backs, & my mom has arthritis, even our dog is starting to have troulbe with her back legs & the vet is saying that she has the beginning stages of arthritis. I'm wondering if the neighbors find any humor in this? LOL, sorry, it's just something that I kind of find sone irony/humor in, since I'm sure the whole neighborhood has seen us all limping around, including the dog now. The vet said that we could mix some baby aspirin in with her food, what the heck kind of suggestion is that?? Is that even safe to do to your pet? I'm sure that there has to be some kind of medicine available for pets that could be prescribed for that, but she suggested mixing the baby aspirin in with her food, which I found very odd.

Oh well, sorry for going off topic on that tangent, it's just something I found to be a little bit strange.

But the Vioxx issue is really starting to bother me now, especially since both my mom & stepdad have been taking Vioxx & Celebrex for their own conditions. I'm going to have to call one of my sisters now and find out what the doctor they work for has to say about the Celebrex, since it may or may not be related to Vioxx. Thanks for the food for thought.
