Re: DEA issues new guidelines on pain drugs

Nice bit of info. You're not joking about being popped on conspiracy charges either. I know a guy that was never caught with any illegal drugs, not even paraphanalia (spelling?) EVER in his life. His case revolved around a few convicted felons doing federal time that implicated him. Of course convicted felons are going to tell LE officials, prosecutors, whoever will listen that Tom, Dick, and Harry were all involved if it gets them reduced sentences. My buddy ended up being a guest at Lewisburg Fed. Prison for 3.5 years, essentially for crimes he "supposedly" was a part of. Had he not pled to the prosecutions conspiracy charges he could of gone away for a loooong time. He was forced to plead guilty and take their "deal" or go to trial and loose up to 20 years of his life. The war on drugs is a total friggin sham. Especially when it comes to conspiracy charges, and mandatory minimums. Prisons are big business and continue to grow each year. Scary Scary stuff.
