Well, that is another dreadful component to this story...some PM clinics are only too happy to do random tests on their pts and then report other substances (cannibis, cocaine, methamp, unscripted benzos)
---What they fail to realize is that CP patients, while showing a lot of patience, balance and control, are still prey to the same demons as the rest of the population; need for escape, need to be cool, need to be up articially so as to keep a house and keep it clean.

should they resort to illegal drugs? ABSOLUTELY NOT!
It is not a reason to cut off those who do use illegal drugs.

But people are scared of this dx, so they resort to scorn and closing their minds; thinking this will keep the bad pain juju away from them and theirs....

so when a story like this breaks, it just gives all sorts of people a delightful rush to judgement.

Kind of like when every actress was considered a prostitute because of her exposure to men, lack of funds, and general ignorance and leering from the public eye.

If people would just listen...wait! I have an idea!

What if we published a log of our daily activities, struggles, and hourly pain, that still shows the delightful human beings we are!!!

Don't you think people would say, "Oh, okay, he/she's just like my uncle/aunt who's been in pain for so long and is problably a junkie....hmmmmmm, oh man, is this what she goes thru every day?"
