Your cynicism may well be justified. But we know what Ashcroft is going to do, he has made it perfectly evident. So do we just give up and suffer? Or do we take a chance on a different AG appointed by a different Yale S&B boy?

Kerry does have significantly different proposals on the economy etc. than Bush. IMO, the current administration is the worst in country's history. Obviously, I'm more than willing to take a chance on change, because I don't see the country getting anything, but worse under current administration. Under Ashcroft, those guys with the "jackboots" will be coming after you instead of the nutcases in Waco next time around.
