Just for the benefit of those who want to read this as a Bush bashing message and pull out the ole 'look what your bestest buddy Clinton all did' - This is a message against Bush's policies with regard to current policies that stand to hurt us in the NOW. (present tense, today, aujour d'hui, etc)

I am not, nor have I even been a fan of Clinton, nor do I think this of others who oppose things that the pres has done. This is not a black and white discussion. If I'm not with you doesn't mean I am against you either.

This is not (supposed to be) a left vs right debate. I just hate what Bush's plans are likely to do to us pain patients. That's all that's relevant here and now. I am not discussing his foreign policy, his planned return to evolutionism, or his cutbacks. This is about drugs and medication.

I am NOT a Clinton fan, and I deeply resent people making the connection just because I don't like what Bush is doing.

I know what NAFTA is, I remember who passed it, and I have seen its effects. I am not happy with Clinton (incidentally, also a huge drug war proponent) on that count, as well as others.

I am just so tired of this kind of debate degenerating into a Bush vs Clinton one. Bush is here NOW, and he's the one who's going to track every Vicodin/Xanax/Percocet/etc you and I ever want to take, and put you in jail if you slip up. All in the name of protecting America from drugs. Protecting us from ourselves again.

I saw the name Clinton mentioned in a post (did not pay attention from whom in particular) as a reaction to Bush's policy being pulled into question. That's what this is in response to : the knee-jerk reaction to anyone possible attacking, or as it turns out, just criticizing the president. However please take this message as a general, open letter, not an ad-hominem attack. All of us have great things to say. If you like Bush, I am certain you have your own good reasons, and far be it from me to try and change your mind. Just allow me to criticise him now for what he wants to do to us CP ers, NOW, before it's illegal to.
