First I want to say thank you to so many people who were kind to me when I was despairing a few weeks ago. I am still despairing but I haven't given up looking for things that help my pain, and I knew there was something to the quality of light and oxygen I took in that related to my well-being. More Clearly Put---it is ironic that certain conditions make us house bound; plus a lot of us live where it is bitterly cold, but when house-bound and unable to get sunshine and fresh air, I know that I, among many others feel doubly unhealthy. I have a story to tell about my recent pain clinic visit; which did not result in any RX but did validate my pain; yet she pushed me out the door to my PCP, who was shoving me mightily toward the pain dr. I am starting to feel like that tattered alley cat who used to be fluffy in the musical CATS who warbles "Memories" ![]() I can remember when I was wanted in the room; now I am devoutly wished out of the building; I am a legitimate lifelong CPer who will not benefit from surgery or epidurals. I want to tell the whole story but I think I need to do it on another board. (not related to OPs, but almost as wonderful as this one; is that possible?) Any suggestions? I think every pain clinic story I read helps me to empathize with the teller, and bolsters my sense of balance. ....it's not just meeeeeee..... Anyway! This story has been floating around for a couple of weeks, and I am here to tell you that in my forty years of off and on pain---sunlight has always helped. I am not talking about baby oil and foil reflectors now---many of us need to wear protective clothing and hats. But there is something about sunlight absorbed that has always worked for me. I offer this story to you. ![]() http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3938824/ Actually, as you read it, it is more slanted toward Vit D supplements; there was another story recently that touted actual sunlight as a remedy. |
