I really respect both of you--I've said so before. And this is not meant to be argumentative--honest! The art of conversation is just that--an art. We've all had multitudes of conversations at the dinner table, at a party, at a bar, at a wedding, in school, in church, etc., etc. Some have been a yawn, some have been informative, some have been irritating, and some make you wish it would never end.

I used to hate reading reviews of any kind--movies, books, you name it. I thought to myself, "Who cares what this bozo thinks, it's just his/her own stupid opinion." Then my very smart husband taught me that the point of criticism, of opinion, is to make you think. It's to open a dialogue. It's to help you form and communicate your own original thoughts.

You certainly don't have to agree, but why not listen to what your fellow man or woman has to say? How dull life would be if all we did was exchange facts! What would happen to passion?

I don't agree with everything anyone says, but I do learn, because I am forced to see things from all sides.

I know, I sound like a broken record. I'm sure you're rolling your eyes and wishing I'd give it up. I enjoy this kind of stuff, though. It makes me happy!
