In my original post, I bashed George Bush and stated that the country would have been a different place had Bush not stole the election since Gore was elected by the people.

To those that have provided stats on Bush's incompetency, perhaps his most infamous legacy is the Patriot Act and the Patriot Act 2 that would have been pushed on an unsuspecting American population had someone with a conscience not leaked the act to the press before it could become law. Some of the Patriot Act 2 is straight out of the old USSR. Any American under the PA2 could be held indefinitely without anyone knowing their location just on suspision of being a terrorist. That violates Habeas Corpus which is a cornerstone of the American justice system. Bush has destroyed so many freedoms granted by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, that I could type this post for hours.

I noticed that about a year ago, you were consisdered by some ( espeically people living in Texas) treasonous if you wrote anything negative about Bush. Living in the Dallas area, I sometimes read the Dallas Morning News. Both editorials and readers that once praised Bush now cry out how unfit he is for the job of president.

Since I am third generation Texan which is rare these days, I will say what I want about George Bush. I am not one of the lemmings that gets gooey over Bush because he comes from Texas. So what?

One of the many reasons that I like Al Gore is in a speech he made that summed up the way things are now.

I recall Gore stating that after 9-11, America had the sympathy of the world. The deficit was eliminated pre 9-11. Goodwill toward America was at an all time high.

People better start worrying that someone (taxpayers) will be paying for Bush's mistakes for decades.

I thought the Republican party was about small government, less spending, and less government intrusion into citizens' lives. Under Bush, just the opposite has happened. Those are the facts.

Lastly, that vile document, the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Department that was created to combine various agencies to spy on American citizens and eliminate freedoms that so many have died for defending.

One thing OP users, the day is coming when they will be outlawed. Not if, but when thanks to Bush and the Homeland Security Department. Why do you think package seizures are at an all time high? This agency at first stated that its only function was to stop terrorism. A few months ago, an official admitted that they are overstepping their bounds and using all that fancy equipment to spy on citizens that have never been suspected of any terrorist acts.

Under George W. Bush, we are now Amerika.
