I have high anxiety. benzos help. I know my body. If I tell some dr. now I want benzos for my anxiety, they will try to push zoloft or paxil on me because the drug companies are pushing them on them.
I don't want to change my brain chemistry. I want to calm myself down. I know what I need to make my life better. I don't need some pompous Best if kept off the board with a God complex telling me what's best for me after talking to me for ten minutes.
I have been in this body for 30 years. I take very good care of it. I am really careful about what I put it into it and if I want to put benzos into it knowing the risks, then how am I different than the people who choose to put alcohol into their bodies or even french fries. I choose not to consume the latter because I think it's harmful. I support every other Americans right to choose whatever they want to put in their body but I don't see how substances that relieve pain or quell anxiety are any different.
Tylenol is dangerous. It destroys your liver. Don't even get my started on cigarettes. Are hydro and benzos worse? I don't think so. If you disagree, don't take them. You have the right to choose cigarettes, alcohol, donuts.
Let me make my own choice for my body.
