I wrote the following letter to MSNBC, the Washington Post, The Miami Herald, etc. etc. Dear (Title), I was amazed when I heard that the DEA was going after the ill and elderly in California who were using medicinal marijuana, instead of pursuing ecstacy, heroin and cocaine dealers. I am flabbergasted to learn that chronic pain sufferers are now the target! How can it be that someone who is in pain, who is subjected to unsympathetic doctors and/or horrendous drug prices (particularly for the uninsured), can be considered dangerous or criminal? There are so many legitimate targets out there! Why torture the already tortured? I sincerely doubt it will be run in their editorial section, but what the hey. |
