Rock star Courtney Love was taken to a hospital for an apparent drug overdose Thursday after her arrest on charges of smashing windows at a friend's home, authorities said. Los Angeles police responding to a burglary call found Ms. Love, 39, standing outside a home, where she admitted breaking the windows in an attempt to enter. She was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and released. Ms. Love, who led the band Hole, was among those mentioned in December when Beverly Hills physician Jules Lyman was stripped of his medical license by the California Medical Board for prescribing addictive drugs to celebrities for cash.
