I've had four back surgeries..3 spinal fusions...and while at least I believe two of them were necessary to preserve function...it's no guarantee they'll do anything for the pain...because surgery, if done early in the pain process is effective....studies suggest that the same neuro pathways that develop that allow a 1 year old the "memory" to rise up & walk, also develop with regard to pain...once those pain pathways develop...they are there...and not going anywhere...so kind of your husband to think when the baby factory is closed down he'll "allow" you this wonderful option! Geez!
