Re: Sensorship, the FCC, and what's going to happen..

As we get closer to November, the issue of individual rights that were raised in this thread have enormous importance. Most people are probably aware of this already, but for those who may not be, please keep in mind that the man elected next month stands to nominate Three supreme court justices during his term as President. The outcome of which could affect us all in not just the next four years, but the next 20+ years. A Court and an Administration who has a strict, "conservative" interpretation of our constitutional rights, could jeopardize not only our ability to seek OP's and make our own decisions regarding our life and health care, but it could also affect our ability to participate on this board.

I put the word conservative in quotation marks because I'm speaking particularly of those individuals in politics that have chosen to align themselves with a coalition of people who hold the church out as our interpreter of constitutional rights and liberties. It is possible to have strong faith and belief, but to also feel the need to keep our interpretation of constitutional rights and liberties separate from the scripture. All of this, obviously, is my own opinion and not meant to offend anyone. I just feel strongly about the importance of an open minded, tolerant view of our constitutional rights. And this election could have more affect on that outcome than the outcome of Iraq.

Feel free to pounce on me. I realize there may be some who disagree with me on this.
