And incidentally, if for some that does include indulging some proclivity they prefer to keep in a border town, I say, go! and be safe, but feel guiltless in your adult needs; I think every country needs an Amsterdam of some sort within reach.

And in this day and age, that is a moot point. Watching one's back and leaving the gold rings and such at home when traveling in places where people are hungry and have worries feeding their children, is not only wise, but courteous as well.
