I wasn't with her but this is what I remember her telling me. She actually took a friend to get her something I don't remember, prozac or something like that. I think it was actually more than one thing she wanted. Her friend has no insurance, see. That may not be it but it was some kind of maintenance med she took. So since she was going anyway because they were visting family on the Texas border around a holiday and she speaks the language, I said pick me up some valium. She said she went the to the pharmacy and said she wanted some valium. He said he needed a script. She pulled out the money ($5 or $10) and said can't you just write me one? He sighed, did it. She declared it at the border, no problems. This has been a while, but post 9/11. I don't know what the pecos is to the dollar now but I think she got 90 for about $35 plus whatever she gave the pharmacist.
