Re: Very interesting. About Dr. Gibbs and OP's - L

Very Enlightening Indeed.

Dr. Gibbs was ordered CME in 'record-keeping' and 'ethics',narcotic prescribing only for his OB/GYN pts, 10 years probation whereas he must review 4 times per year and pay for all related costs, $10,000 civil fine and he gets to keep his license in the State of Arizona.

That is amazing to me he received $20 per consult for MYPRIVATEDOC, $70 per consult for MWW and he did NOT split-fee with the Pharmacy he used in Florida as he thought "this was illegal". Way to go,Dr. Gibbs! I was surprised to read he had opened his own OP,I didn't know that.

It was also interesting to learn the Board had seized the Pharmacy Records and he was not familiar with one med he prescribed. (amtriptyline?)

I was very impressed he told the Board his reasoning for internet precribing,to help those without insurance, those unable to get meds needed from their own Physicians and transients.

Still the "face-to-face" relationship with pt requirement.
Will online OPs ever go webcam to hurdle this barrier? This point appears to be the largest infraction for online Docs.
The Docs certainly cannot avoid the "diversion of controlled substances prescribed" either via online or private practice.
Who could? Even with a CME "drug-seeking-behavior" education, anyone could divert without the Docs knowledge. I think the Board is a little off center field regarding this issue.

Thank You,DB for the Court Copy. Very Interesting Indeed!
J.
