Morbid Obesity(a BMI>30) is now considered a disease. I think it was in 2000 the major insurance carriers began covering Gastric Bypass surgery. This is now recognized as a health condition,especially as obesity affects blood pressure,cardiac output,respirations and cholesterol negatively. These gastric bypass surgeons are the latest making big bucks in this area.

Eating twinkies is not everyones reason.Some have thyroid conditions,disabled to the point of non functioning and various other conditions. Not all are obese due to life style choices.

My heart goes out to folks that are shunned by society due to body mass.
