An article I found lately: Feds seizing cars The U.S. attorney's office in Pittsburgh has moved to get property forfeited and money seized in two unrelated investigations. Prosecutors have filed a motion for six cars owned by Richard George Faris of National Pike Auto Sales in Uniontown. According to the forfeiture request, Faris bought wrecked or salvaged cars with salvaged titles in Miami, then repaired them, altered the salvaged titles and obtained clear titles in Pennsylvania. Agents serving a warrant on March 7, 2002, seized a BMW, four Mercedes Benzes and a Honda. In another filing, prosecutors are seeking to forfeit $43,000 in cash and a Ford Thunderbird convertible as part of an investigation of Daniel C. G'bbia and Kathleen Kautz, doing business as Krown Drug Inc. How funny the bust was such a huge one yet there has been little fanfare about it. Very strange indeed. MrB |
