I happen to think that some of you are paranoid because you may be double dipping. Granted the insurance companies keep a great database on us, but the US doesn't have the manpower or the resouces to control such a huge database. Individual states are trying to set up a way to check meds and abusers. They say that this is to help people. A sort of way to treat an abuser before they get to far into an addiction. Easier to treat an adict than to jail one and less expensive too..Smokescreen The freedoms that you enjoy getting prescriptions for Bezo's and opiates is generally much less of a target for the govt. than say a crack dealer or a trafficer of narcotics. In my opinion if you seek care from a liscensed doctor and throw caution to the wind, that you are as guilty as the OP that looks the other way when shoddy med records or early refills and mis-diagnosis to give the paying customer what they want is a bigger travesty than the average Joe Schno keeping a stash of pain pills for whatever eason. Sure the govt. can and does bust dealers of narcotics like cocaine and heroin or worse. That is their jobs. But under the rules of the Constituiton, a Doctor / patient relationship is just as sacred as a lawyer/client privelage. Rest assured that the govt. will find a way to "control" the online prescription of scheduled narcotics but as Americans, we all will find another way to obtain what makes us feel better. Americans are free to pursue those things, whether it be a heating pad or a prescription for scheduled narcotics online, and will find a way, legal or not to do so.. IMO the govt. may target known abusive doctors, but in the end, what can anyone do to a person who gets phoned by an OP and asked if they are ready for a refill and new consult (be it legal or not). People are granted the right to police themselves and therein lies the truth about what the whole issue is.. Could I not claim ignorance of the law, if I am not proficient in identifying what a round pill that makes the pain go away vs. a semi-round pill that does the same thing.... I am free to exercise my own judgement in my house and defy anyone who passes judgement on me. So herein lies the question. Is quadruple dipping worse than double or triple dipping. Do I not myself possess the ability to determine right from wrong as the laws vagueness on this topic is unclear.. I ask anyone to judge my moral terpitude, based on what button I clicked or what an OP has advertised as right or wrong. How many OP's have lain out a clear interpretation of the law and asked you to attest and swear your compliance with moral and legal issues. It's all about the money unfortunately. So we as pain sufferer's are left to sort out and make our own best judgement calls when it comes to what we are doing in our hometown, our neighborhoods, and on the Internet. Be grateful that you have this privilege because it may not last forever. The crack dealer from 1981 that is still free to walk the streets can attest to this. Right or wrong , we must all make our decisions with the best information that is provided to us. We have to decide if what one doctor says is a cure for what ill's us is what we feel is a good accessment. I accidentally double dipped and tried to rectify the situation , but my money was gobbled up already. My conscious said no, but my money was out the window. I could not recoup my hard earned, and heavily taxed dollars. I only sought to find a middle ground. It's my right as a consumer to get what I pay for, and also my right to govern my own self in taking one pill or two. I in no way condone double dipping as it is outlined so discreetly, But I can read replies and question an OP that gives you choices of doctors and pharnmacies so that they can get your money and feed you drugs that can send you to a painless world or to a world where addiction and recovery are the themes. If my GP prescribed me Morphine for pain that is real, was to die tommorow, can I not expext his replacement to have the same amount of empathy.? I seriously doubt it. So I govern my own treatment.. Do I know right from wrong. If I order Viagra or Propecia am I not dictating my own method of self medication.. If a majority of online OP users really asked them selves, Am I ordering what I am ordering for a noble cause, I.E. self treatment, or am I just ordering to feed a habit, I would bet that no one would offer a real answer. Am I saying that I have no feelings for the chronic pain suffer's who doule dip.? No , I have a conscious and compassion. That's a hell of a lot more than most physicians can say. Why would our own government have to pass laws that gave freedom to the doctors to treat pain in an aggresive manner.? Certainly , Congress didn't intend to create a country that takes a pill if the wind doesn't feel comfotable.. I am lucky to have found an OP that understands what pain is..I am also aware that my freedom to medicate myself without undue supervision is a personal freedom that I choose to use until it is gone. My ancestors and yours suffered through pain. I suffer from pain. But the govt. looking over my shoulder causes me greater grief than a night without sleep or comfort in my own home.. I am sorry to get on such a rant, but I have concluded that the chase to find relief also burdens my own morality to a degree that I find it just as or worse than the pain I suffer physically.. I carry wounds from fighting for my country. Does this alienate me from judging right from wrong..? Ask a crack dealer if he has any sorrow for what he is doing until his world crashes and burns around him. What the OP's offer us is a method to contain pain and the fear of what a painful daily existence has to offer us. So in short...sort out your own needs and neccesities while you can.. Take aim at those of us who suffer from chronic pain, but drink up and drive home from City Hall.. Prohibition created more alcoholics than it saved from drinking booze. I only look to find a safe and happy medium to live in. Some pain, great pain, unbearable pain. I fear these things. I don't need the govt. to regulate what eases my own fears... If you took the time to read this, I may sound like a rambling madman. I am doubled over in pain all day but still I have to work 40+ hours per week to carry on. So with or without OP's I hope to find compassion in the world for what I and millions of others go through each day... Pain is my worst enemy and thanks to all those who have the courage to carry on, even when it is unbearable. |
