Re: Davis and Waxman Introduce 'Ryan Haight Act'

Like Therion said, it all comes down to VOTES, and there are most likely more people that have heard the sensationalized stories like that of Ryan Haight, or of the docs handing out Oxycontins like M&Ms with lines wrapped around the block, etc etc etc. than there are chronic pain sufferers...people that hear these stories that DON'T have chronic pain issues simply have no clue as to how hard it is for us to get relief using the tradtional medicine route. If they did, they would probably be horrified...not to mention people seem to be completely uninterested in researching a topic on their own unless it affects them directly, so they are happy to take the distorted versions that the media spoon feeds them. How many stories have we seen that say that OC is READILY AVAILABLE online? We know that that is BUNK, but the average TV news viewer doesn't...yanno what I mean????
