What I don't understand is how passing laws making it harder to get prescriptions for painkillers is going to benefit these politicians? I realize that sometimes they are abused, but I think that most people are relieved when they are in pain and have a compassionate doctor who pulls out the prescription pad and gives them vicodin. One never knows what life is going to deal them. The people that vote for these politicians may find themselves in horrible pain someday with no way to get relief. I would think that it would be a very unpopular thing to try to restrict chronic pain sufferers from getting their meds.
