Re: Kentucky BR 1133

I am a Kentucky native and I have been watching this like a hawk. It has passed the house unamiously I might add and it looks like to will pass the senate and become a law. I hate this and am angry too that they "piggybacked" this condition on the anti meth bill. This was originally supposed to stop the purchase of sudafed in large quantities by the druggies cooking meth and selling it. Mr Stumbo along with a couple of others decided to tack the internet pharmacy bill onto the meth one. We already have to get sudafed and coricidin from behind the pharmacy counter as it was being stolen by the boat loads. Here is a sad but true story. My family( 2 adults, 2 teens and a toddler) have all had a "flu" respritory type illness. I spent 20 minutes in Wal-Mart checking the ingrediants of the many cold medicines as I don't like to give my kids or take something that has all the extra stuff. For example, if I have a runny nose I don't need to take tylenol and a cough suppresant too. So, I picked out a liquid sudafed for my toddler, a nighttime combo like nyquil for hubby, a straight robitussin/expectorant for me and a combo sudafed/benydryl for the teens, according to their symptoms. When I went to purchase them after the third item was scanned the register started beeping and saying LIMIT EXCEEDED, CONTACT MANAGER! The cashier gave me a mean look and asked in a snarl, HOW MANY COLD MEDICINES DID YOU BUY??? I said I don't know I got what I thought each person needed according to their symptoms, why? She literally SNATCHED the box out of my hand and walked away. I said wait a minute which one did you take and what is going on. She told me in hateful voice. This is a federal law. You can only buy 3 cold medicines at a time! I was shocked and confused as I knew about the sudafed being behind the conter now but had never heard of this. I hear on the news 2 days later that they are THINKING of trying to pass legislation that would require you to sign for sudafed when you buy it and you can not get more than 90 pills a month. I can't imagine why you would need even that many but if we allow this where will it end??? I am so mad at Wal-Mart and I fully intend to speak to the manager about the way I was treated and they fact that this is NOT a law, federal or otherwise. BTW, I was horse, had a red, runny nose and a bad cough. I was treated like a criminal! I will be keeping an eye on the internet pharmacy legislature. Does any legal eagles out there know what exactly this will mean for us legitimate pain sufferers in KY with legitimate records etc? Will the OP's decided they won't ship to KY residents? Sorry the post is so long but I am not a happy camper
