I think it stinks too, BUT....from what I have seen, the doctors who will not give you the actual script do this because there are so many people who, once they get the script, alter it by bumping up the number of pills/capsules and or refills and or try making photo copies of them to give to multiple pharmacies and or IF the doctor noted on the script, will write down the DEA number and call in a fake prescription or snake blank script pads from their doctor and write their own prescriptions.

Of course, the layman would get the largest blunt of legal troubles but they would also go back to the doctor and warn them for not being security minded or were they in on this.

Sorry this is turning into a novel...outside of this, I'm not too surprised, alot of times these ops or even local doc make deals with pharmacies for kickbacks and they lose this if you take you script to unassociated pharmacy.
