There's *nothing* in the Patriot Act law that allows warrantless searches of domestic mail. Yes, they can now get a FISA warrant instead of the regular kind... but they still need some type of suspicion of terrorist involvement (a standard less than Probable Cause, yes).

True, our civil liberties were eroded ... but a search warrant is still needed to open domestic Express, Priority, and First Class. Major exceptions under the DMM are for mail that is leaking contents or undeliverable mail that can't be returned to sender. Don't scare people for no reason, billyl. As was pointed out here by others, the only "mail" mentioned in the Act is e-mail.

Oh, re drug-free school zones, it's usually anything/anybody within 500 feet. If you live that close to a school and they find it at your house, my state used to impose a mandatory 18 years if convicted of poss. w. intent, even if you have nothing to do with the school or the schoolkids.
