Re: Shouldn't all doctors provide a script on request?

I partly agree. But I think the original poster is asking the about getting a script from an OP then transferring it. That is asking to get black balled. These pharmacies that fill , do so taking a risk. They have a responsibility now also, and for them to say "Well, I guess Dr. X had alot of patients that needed help" after the DEA says "Dr. X phoned in 2500 Rx's for #120 Hydro to be sent to different people all over the country in 2004, with no scripts for a non narcotic? And nothing but pain medications, and you never questioned the "validity of the scripts"(I beleive a new law that holds them responsible also)?!"

The OP needs a pharmacy to fill, and the pharmacy needs to make a few mill before getting shut down. You transferring or filling the script else where makes the pharmacy no money. And if the OP allowed it I imagine the pharmacy would just tell them to fill all of their orders else where, and good luck calling Eckerds/CVS in DosieDo,Alabama for a script for 120 norcos and 90 xanax , oh and add 3refills.

Am I wrong here? Is this how the trifecta works? Consult split 50/50, takes care of two of the three. And a gaurentee to triple costs once those scripts are filled with the promise that all scripts will be honored?
