The d. sheriffs called the local news stations about busting "big dealer" importing drugs over the internet, but fortunately (?) there was a triple murder the same night so the story got buried (this is a small town). When it came up in court 2 mos later it had died down a bit. The intent to sell was reduced to possession without a valid Rx, a misdemeanor, due to lack of evidence. (Their original evidence in the search warrant was stuff like the fact that I had more than one address--a) "dealers move around alot", reality was I own several homes b) "I belonged to more than one gym, so I had access to lots of people to sell pills to"--reality is I work out in different gyms to keep from getting bored, and one is near home, one near office. All this "sworn" by the local "task force" drug dealer expert. We originally tried getting the search warrant thrown out, but that would have made it look like I was really guilty, and got off on a technicallity.
It read like something from a comedy, or a nightmare, which it was.
But, as I said it cost me my reputation, and $7000 for legal fees. Everyone in my office and a few in my town now look at me like I am a drug dealer because that is was the sheriff said I was.
