Actually, this is good advice. I am an attorney (though not a litigator nor do I do criminal defense, except in rare cases -- where I consult) -- but I'd say that 90% of the clients with whom I consult would not be in trouble had they not spoken to a prosecutor or LE officer before consulting me.

The rule of "keeping your mouth shut" applies to so many scenarios that one may begin to lose count!

Although the police have been given more lea-way since 9/11, too often it is the defendant who is his own worst enemy. In many cases, LE has very little lea-way. One just needs to know how to "play" it. These people are not your friends. Nor do they care about you. Their (LE's) job is very simple. To enforce the law. Know that, and you'll know a lot.
