If you notice a rash of more tickets being given out and more cops on the road around August and September (or the last quarter of the year)that is probably because the state's budget that you live in begins and ends during that time. For example, Texas fiscal year ends August 31, and begins Sept 1 unlike the traditonal Jan1-Dec 31. The cops are out collecting REVENUE. Not doing police work. I think each state sets its budget cycle and some coincide with Texas. I used to be a 'revenuer' as they say in some parts of the country. The difference between me and the cops was that was my offical job duty as a tax collector for Texas. Find out when your state's fiscal year ends and be especially careful about one month before it ends, and the month it ends. Also holidays like Christmas are times to be extra careful too. With this year being an exception, politicians are usual only nice during election years. |
