Quite a few states have scheduled carisoprodol. It's possible that some have done the same for tramadol.
The reason i posted the link to GPO is so that people can search the FR for a recent Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to schedule tramadol. They won't find it. If people want to find out current information, they really need to search the FR and recently passed Public Laws at GPO. The DEA can implement regulations or emergency orders to schedule something, but that can also be done by Congress. The CFR is only updated once a year, but anything DEA does would be posted in the FR. You can see if there are any pending federal bills by searching http://thomas.loc.gov/ .
Thanks for the info. The DEA updates every year, as you said, and when Congress stepped in with measures to reclassify ketamine, GHB, and GBL, the bill gave a grace period. My point is that when Congress steps in, it's not so drastic that the DEA publications aren't up to date.
But that's for drugs you want to check on after the fact. Trampy's point was that if you want to know if something's on the horizon, you can check his/her recommended sites for all federal bills. Does this include proposals by the DEA, Trampy?
But for state scheduling, which is the best place to look when worried about tramadol, it's easy to type combinations of "tramadol schedule proposal controlled substance state US", etc. into a search engine. If there will be a proposal to schedule it, some paper somewhere will cover it. You can get a list of states that have scheduled Soma pretty easily this way.
