That is so true! The last time I used my regular local pharmacy to refill my Xanax script, they not only asked to see my driver's license, the Pharmacy Technician actually ASKED me why I seemed so nervous. Well, duh...maybe because I have anxiety disorder and needed my medication??? This may not have anything to do with monitoring. Pharmacies are supposed to ask for ID when the person comes to pick up a narcotic, otherwise people who happen to know that someone has a script for hydro or whatever and just say, "ya, I need to pick up a script for so and so". As far as asking why you were so nervous... I have had an argument with a pharmacist before. My doc called in hydro to eckerds. Well, I live in Houston, and my doc, who I have been going to for over 10 years and knows my head in and out is about 120 miles away. The pharmacist was suspicious cause the Dr. was so far away and asking me all kinds of questions. He asked me "what is your doctor's phone #?" Well, I didn't know it off hand and he acted like that was completely crazy. The lady behind me was like "I don't know my dr.s #". Anyways, it came down to him saying that he is largely responsible as the pharmacist for using discretion as to whether or not it's legit, so it was his butt on the line, at least as he told it. Anwyays, just a thought.. S ~Eeyore |
