As much as I feel for anyone sufferring in pain, stealing a prescription pad to write your own prescriptions is worthy of jail time.

All of the other factors in this event cannot defend this action.

Anyone who steal a prescription pad from a doctor has to go to jail, or in some cases jail and a mandatory treatment center. But in this guys case, he seems to have a ligitamate pain proble so a treatment plan is most likely not the apprpriate option. So I do think this guy needs to do jail time.

There is no justification to let him off. If a junkie stole a prescription pad, their would be no discussion. Jail, period.

What makes this case any different? He suffers from chronic pain. Not an excuse to steal a prescription pad.

What is really sad is that he felt he had no other option but to commit this crime. His pain seriously clouded his judgement.

But, if they cut this guy any slack, they have to do it for the next person who does it.
