Attornies cost money, especially good ones. You'll need a good attorney to make a plea bargain for you. If you can get a well connected attorney, who is in the "buddy system," you'll have a good chance of getting a reduced penalty. Its too bad you said a word to the police. I was in trouble before and my attorney was the only person who made contact with law enforcement officials. I did not say a word unless my attorney was present.
I was also advised by an attorney friend that its better to be quiet, let them cuff you, take you to jail because they will anyway.
Me, I'd panic and just keep yelling for an attorney. No matter how much you pay for your attorney, it will be worth it if he/she gets you out of trouble. Ask around for a recommendation. You may need to speak to several before you hire one. Just be careful who you choose. Good luck! J~
