You would start having problems I think if you brought back alcohol.. One reason is that they suggest you claim any at Customs (if I recall, not positive).. Tbis is fine and dandy, but it would only make it that much more likely for you to have more issues.

Don't know about the UK/ Thiland thing. I would personally think it wouldn't be a good idea.
