I am writing this to say that it does happen. I had been ordering from a Meican pharmacy for years. The owner and AI had a falling out on the phone because he kept saying he had some sedatives (which was always in stock at his store) and when I sent my last order, suddely he was 'out'. This has never happended before after about 4 years of doing business with this guy. I took precautions and never sent cash or a credit card. But I suspect because of the squabble, the Mexican ratted me out when he did send the order because 3 guys showed up with my overdue package. It was aqbout a week late after I called the guy in Mexico for the last time to send my order. A relative answered the door and they showed her some badges but she didn't have time to see who they really were. But one was a postal inspector because he called me the next day since I do not live at the adress I had the medication sent and my relative gave out my phone number to these guys. The package was not opened and the 3 guys asked my relative if they could open it in front of her. My relative said yes. They looked inside but did not show my relative what was in the package. They then left and said that they would see me the next day in the town I live in. All I got was a call from a postal inspector the next morning. Thee was no proof of ordering any sedatives. And It was sent in the United States and not from Mexico. The odds are small that they would have found it if someone had not ratted me out. I posted this when it happended several months ago but the post is gone. To date, I have heard nothing from anyone about this because they had no proof and I did not send the medication though the US mail which I found out is against the law. I know that the other carriers will deliver medications and I can't tell the guy in Mexico how to ship. Also, since I was not present when the package was sealed for delivery or opened, I can honestly say in court that I have no idea what was put in the package. I am saying that this 'men in black' may happen but my case was probably the most serious and it turned out to be nothing. Maybe if there had really been evidence or I had admitted to sending for a controlled drug, then they might have had something. Or if they could pull my credit card statement showing I even ordered anything from this guy but since I never used one, there was nothing to pull. I think a lot of these 'men in black 'posters are DEA or LE. But it can happen. If I did not provide enough information to be believable, just reply to this post because I don't mind (within reason) telling of the experience. I took a lot of 'safe guards' in ordering and it could have been increased security because of 9-11 and not being ratted out. But I do think he sent the package and called the postal people. All he did was lose a good customer. So he acted like a jerk instead of a business man trying to make good on an order and all he did was lose a good source of income. Besides, the Mexican stuff is not very good as rule. Some is efective and some isn't (but that is kind of the way American medication works). I just wanted to set some minds at ease on people who do order. Be careful and try not to over do it and if at all possible, use a money order at the local store since they are impossible to track. |
