Re: Busted in a huge way! WARNING TO YOU ALL, PLS READ

This is to clarify a few things about how the Feds work when you are charged with a FEDERAL crime.

You DO go to a county jail (whichever county jail the feds have a detainer contract with.) You get booked there and await any possible STATE charges that will be brought against you. If none, you are brought in front of a magistrate within a few days. FEDERAL public defenders are EXCELLENT and are much higher paid than their state counterparts. Federal courts roll the wheels of "justice" much more swiftly than state or county courts do.

Also, IT IS NOT CONSIDERED DOUBLE JEOPARDY TO BE TRIED BY BOTH THE STATE AND THE FEDS FOR THE SAME CRIME COMMITTED ON THE SAME DAY. Yes, you CAN be tried (and convicted) TWICE for the same act and end up doing that much more time.
