Each jurisdiction handles things in different ways. The MIB were probably local. In my jurisdiction the MIB have been known to show up at an address for possession of a very small quantity of marijuana. I read the affidavit so I know it firsthand. NO, it wasn't my house. And, no, I don't live in the sticks.

In my area the defendant would have been brought before a magistrate for a bail hearing and a prelim date would be set at that time. Her actual court date would be set further out.

I believe the poster was probably naive in admitting to the importation of her meds or any other crime. And it's true, if she has some scumbag friends, this is a good way to get to them. The MIB usually take out multiple warrants so they have something to play with before or during court. At least that's what they do here.
