The Florida Board resolution which was printed here a few months back required a physical examination. The only "face to face" absolute requirement was for weight loss products. No where did it mandate that the physical exam had to be done by the prescribing doc. Since third party extenders (ie nurse practitioners, or P.A's) are allowed by law, they would be hard pressed to make "face to face" an obligation. You can't have it both ways. For now Florida only has administrative recommendations but no legislative rules as far as I know. Does any one have any other knowledge? |
