You are probably right. I am a carrier @ I will wait outside the house & honk for a minute or two before I put a slip in the box. If the dog doesn't alert you then I figure you are not home. This one was probably just running late or lazy, as you said.

As far as signatures & scanning, It's no big deal. Have a good relationship with your carrier, then he/she will go out of their way to see that you dont get screwed, I do.
