I went to this pain management doctor who "informed" me that he only prescribes methadone or hydrocodone because they don't require the DEA # in Texas... He was rather rude and said that he streamlined his practice to avoid any DEA hassles...so much for compassion for the patient, huh?

I knew that methadone wasn't a triple script, but he said that while hydrocodone doesn't require the triple script, that Percocet does require the DEA #. Except for dosage, they work the same for me, until now I didn't know there were different prescribing requirements.
