Re: DOUBLE DIPPING & DEA!!!

They have different chemical names, but both are controlled potent narcotic analgesics.

If a dentist RX's Tyl#3 for post dental extraction pain, and the next day your urologist RX's oral Demerol or Dilaudid for kidney stone pain... I'd think you'd have to tell the urologist about the Tyl#3. Of course he won't care as the Tyl#3's won't touch the kidney stone pain, but the point I think is disclosure.

Certainly a single doctor may RX as he sees fit to control your pain, especially a pain management doctor.

But If I go to Dr. A complaining of headaches and am RX'd Tylox, then drive on over to Dr B complaining of back pain and am Rx'd Vicodin...and still have Tyl#3 from the dentist... and it all happens in a short period of time, the insurance company, the pharmacy, and whomever they contact will surely be interested in my medicine cabinet.

Diversion and/or abuse will be the flag waving questions
and drawing attention to the situation.

JMO.

Monitoring is also done by the pharmacy...
