I would think the fact that you had firearms (and I understand that you possessed them legally) was what brought the law in full-force. I would imagine that if you didn't possess them legally, you'd be doing time in a Federal prison right now.

In either case, I sympathize with your situation and have some close (relative) personal experience with many of the things you described. With sentencing guidelines the way they are, and the fact that drug dealers do more time than murderers, nothing about the way the DEA or related agencies handle themselves surprises me any longer.
